Section 1 – Spotters Rules
-
All cars, when on the track, MUST have a ‘Spotter’ in the area (“Spotterville”) designated for SLMS spotters, in radio communication with their driver.
-
Spotters are required to be in contact during practice, qualifying, and the race.
-
All spotters MUST attend a MANDATORY Spotters meeting, immediately following the drivers meeting. (Spotters are urged to also attend the drivers meeting)
-
All spotters MUST have some form of car identification on their person when in “Spotterville”. (ID tag, shirt with car #, hat, etc.) Please line up in some orderly form along the top rows of the area. Leave room for the Spotter official to move around freely.
-
Only one (1) spotter per team in the designated area DURING THE RACE.
-
ANYONE (drivers, wives, owners, or crew members other than the spotter) entering the spotter area, to argue an on track call, will be removed and will automatically disqualify the car they are associated with.
-
Abuse of the spotter official will not be tolerated. Anyone abusing their privilege will be removed and that car will be black flagged.
-
Radio of mirror driving will not be tolerated. If suspected by SLMS officials, a caution will be thrown and the suspected car will be sent to the rear, or pits.
-
Try not to distract the Spotter official during green flag runs. It is best to ask questions during cautions periods. Remember, he is also trying to “observe” on track altercations.
