2007 Bollhoff Rivnut SUPERPRO Series In Review
GAIER GRABS BOLLHOFF RIVNUT SUPERPRO OPENER
The Bollhoff Rivnut SUPERPRO Series for late model stock cars
kicked off its 2007 season with the running of the "Engineered
Systems 75" on Saturday, May 19 at the Angola Speedway with
young Mike Gaier making a late race pass to capture the victory.
Former champions Rob Buckley and Jack Landis led the 20 car
field to the green. After battling side by side for several
laps, Landis assumed the point. Landis led Buckley, Gaier, Tommy
Cook, Jason Dietsch and Mike Kugler for several laps. On lap 28,
a caution came out for a spin and Aluminum Racing Products fast
qualifer Jack Smith pitted for a flat tire.
The battle continued until lap 59 when Buckley, making a bid
for the lead, came in contact with a lapped car and brought out
the caution, with a flat tire ending Buckley's chance at
victory. Landis continued to lead but appeared to have a left
rear tire going down. Gaier took full advantage and passed the
2004 SUPERPRO champion for the lead on lap 68. At the finish it
was Gaier, Landis, Tommy Cook, Dietsch, Kugler with Mark Kortz,
Rick Everidge, Al Cook, Jr., Mike Tutino, and Smith rounding out
the top ten.
Smith was the Aluminum Racing Products fast qualifier with a
lap of 14.12 seconds at an average speed of 95.548 around the
3/8ths.mile high banked paved oval and Royce Mason II grabbed
the All Star Performance Hard Charger Award.

Speedway.
Leading rookie contender Colin Toland and Kevin Todd brought
the field down to the green for the "All Star Performance - Lane

the track. Danta got around Kortz on lap 44 for third and moved
around Todd for the runner up spot on lap 48. It took twenty
laps for Danta to track down Toland for the lead. He was able to
get under the young local favorite for the ltop spot on lap 68.

tire on lap seventy two that bunched the field up for a three
lap shootout and Danta was able to hold on for the victory.

a second and third respectfully, followed by Tommy Cook, Michael
Gaier, Al Cook, Jr., Jason Dietsch, Justin Kazmar, Steven

KUGLER THE MAN AT SUPERPRO "ENGINEERED SYSTEMS 75"
AT ANGOLA
Veteran Mike Kugler took advantage of Al Cook, Jr.'s
misfortune and and won the "Engineered Systems 75" Bollhoff
Rivnut SUPERPRO Series feature Saturday at Angola Speedway.
Cook Jr. and Kevin Todd brough the field to the green and ran
side by side for the first five laps until Cook took over the
lead. Cook maintained his lead over Todd, Kugler, Jack Landis,
and Mark Kortz until Landis fell out of competition with
mechannical problems on lap 42. Kugler moved around Todd for
second on lap 43 and was followed by Kortz, Tommy Cook and Jason
Dietsch.
The third caution flew on lap 51 when it was discovered Al
Cook's differential was leaking, forcing the leader from the
event. It was smooth sailing for Kugler from that point as he
led Kortz, Tommy Cook, Dietsch, Jack Smith, and Rob Buckley to
the stripe. Todd held on for sixth followed by Michael Gaier,
Derek Bischak, and Justin Kazmar.
Dietsch was the Aluminum Racing Products Fast Qualifier with a
new SUPERPRO Angola track record of 14.056 around the high

A PAIR OF FIRSTS FOR SUPERPRO AT WINCHESTER
The Bollhoff Rivnut SUPERPRO Series paid its first ever visit
to Charlie Shaw's historic Winchester Speedway and Edgeton,
Ohio's Jason Dietsch picked up the first SUPERPRO win of his
career.
Young Derek Bischak and Al Cook, Jr. led the field to the
green of the "Aluminum Racing Products 50" with Cook, Jr.
jumping into the lead. Michael Gaier moved quickly from his
sixth starting position to grab the point on lap four. Fast
qualifier Rick Turner, Dietsch and Tommy Cook all began to put
the heat on the leader. Gaier made contact with the turn four
wall on lap 15 and made a miraculous save down the front stretch
to maintain the lead. Dietsch moved to second on lap 16 and into
the lead two laps later.
Turner made hard contact with the wall on lap 22, bringing out
the first caution of the event. Cook made the save of the
century as he lost it out of turn four trying to pass Dietsch
and somehow missed the water barrels that protect the inside
wall.
At the half way point, it was Dietsch followed by Rob Buckley,
Gaier, Al Cook and Bischak. Tommy Cook moved from the tail to
fourth by lap 34. It was all Dietsch to the checkers followed by
Buckley, Gaier, Tommy Cook, and Bischak with his best SUPERPRO
finish to date.
Dietsch also won the All Star Performance Hard Charger Award
with leading Five Star Racing rookie Colin Toland, who hit the
wall during practice, taking the ARP Hard Luck honors. Turner
was the ARP-Q Racing and Corrigan Oil fast qualifier with a lap
of 16.41 seconds (109.689 miles per hour) around the high banked
